Our Story: Four Musicians, One Mission

Zumbar was born from a simple belief: music is the language that speaks to the soul when words fall short.

Olivia Martinez, Imani Jones, Xia Chen, and Evi Meijer came together driven by a shared vision, to create music that doesn’t just fill a room, but fills a moment. Whether you’re working up a sweat in your apartment, cooking dinner for someone you love, or dancing under the stars with friends, our music is here to elevate that experience and make it unforgettable.

We are four different musicians with different stories. Olivia brings the lyrical heart and songwriting soul. Imani grounds us with bass and harmony. Xia weaves electronic landscapes that shift from delicate to explosive. Evi propels everything forward with rhythm and percussion that makes you move. Separately, we’re accomplished. Together, we’re something bigger.

The Sound: Where Worlds Collide

Zumbar is Salsa House EDM, but that label barely scratches the surface of what we do.

Our music fuses the infectious energy of Latin rhythms with the hypnotic pulse of electronic dance and the soulfulness of contemporary pop. It’s the warmth of a brass section colliding with a four-on-the-floor kick. It’s the intimacy of whispered vocals layered over driving synths. It’s music that respects tradition while refusing to be bound by it.

Listen to «Renacer» and you’ll hear us at our most introspective, a meditation on rebirth wrapped in ambient house and dreams. «Bailando Sin Parar» is the opposite: pure, unapologetic celebration. «Noche de Estrellas» is romance played at maximum energy.
